Alberta Business & Educational Services (ABES) was incorporated March 28, 1991. Since then, we have provided an education environment in Calgary that gives adult learners the training and support needed to enter the employment sector. ABES has provided training in more than 50 program areas during our 20+ years of operation and currently offers a variety of health care training programs. ABES is currently licensed as a Private Vocational School under the Private Vocational Training Act - a great alternative to Calgary & Edmonton area medical schools! Partnerships ABES is pleased to offer these programs in cooperation with Alberta Health Services (Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge), Calgary Lab Services, Alberta Human Services, and the Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums. These partnerships were established not only to better serve our students but also to meet the needs of the current ongoing demands of the industry. We consider these partnerships with the industry and community resources to be the key to our success. High Employment Rates ABES relies on these industry partnerships to help us develop, deliver and assess our programs so that our graduates are highly employable when they finish. We keep in constant contact with our partners to ensure that our graduates have the top skills needed for employment and advancement in their careers. We’re continually updating our programs to reflect current industry requirements, which is why we see such high employment rates among our graduates.
Our Goals To deliver fast-paced, quality, hands-on employment skills programs that result in successful employment of ABES learners. To establish and maintain active industry relationships that can lead to the creation of more innovative employment-focused training programs for ABES learners. To implement a program of continuing quality improvement, using relevant indicators of success, measuring results at appropriate intervals and annually sharing results with staff and other stakeholders. To implement a range of programs that respond to the ethnic, economic and social character of adult learners; as well as those of employers, considering accessibility, employment opportunities for graduates and positive impact on the quality of life in the city of Calgary and beyond.
