As of January 2015, Mr Gibbard took over all operations at Llanelli Forge. He has an ONC in Mechanical Engineering and an NVQ level 2 in welding. He had learnt the techniques of welding as a part of his apprenticeship with British Steel, but learnt the entire welding process while working in France as a professional welder. Coming back to Llanelli, Mr Gibbard joined Llanelli Forge as an engineer and learnt the process of making gates, railings and much more under the guidance of the previous owner.
