It is possible to exterminate them if you get them early and before a bed bug infestation occurs.

Advice to prevent a bed bug infestation

Declutter your home and restrict bed bug hiding places and make them easier to find
Use the very hot temperature when washing linen from the bed
Check closely any furniture that isn’t new before it enters the house
After trips or guests or calls made by service people always thoroughly check your home


How bad can it get with Bed bugs?

Bed bug females can lay up to 35 eggs a week and up to 500 eggs before they die. In the right conditions and with food they can live for almost a year. So each female could potentially produce 500 eggs each. That’s why they need to be exterminated early.

Bed bugs do not transmit diseases to human’s, although they do carry diseases themselves.

Bed bugs feed on blood and therefore want to live close to us, the bed bug bites can have different affects depending on the individual being bitten. Some reactions are quite bad, some not so much. Either way it is an unpleasant experience.
