The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) now handles the responsibilities originally managed by the Driving Standards Agency and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency. The main aim of the DVSA is to establish and maintain standards for drivers and vehicles throughout the UK, overseeing driving test and MOT schemes. Established in April 2014, the DVSA has the Department for Transport as a parent organisation and is closely affiliated with the DVLA, VCA and the Highways Agency.
